Parent’s day &
Vianney Sunday celebrations in Siddhpur Mission Parish
Parents are
the first teachers who are irreplaceable precious gifts from God. Keeping this
in mind on the commemoration of the parents of Blessed Virgin Mary Sts. Joachim
& Anne, the parishioners of Siddhpur celebrated the parents’ day with the
Holy Eucharist. Four children expressed their sentiments before their parents
and it was a moving experience to listen to their genuine sharing. One child
brought tears in every eye through her grateful sharing. When parenting is
becoming difficult in the changing world everyone prayed for the grace of God
to support parents for good parenting. The
children presented small gifts to their parents as a token of gratitude.
Vianney Sunday
was celebrated in Siddhpur Mission parish with pomp. It began with solemn well
participated liturgy. Fr. Xavier James presided over the Eucharist and after an
inspiring homily on the life of St. John Mary Vianney and Sunday liturgy of the
Word; everyone proclaimed their faith in trine God and joined in prayer of the
faithful which was in different languages: Konkani, Malayalam, Gujarati,
English. They were well prepared by the people themselves. The parishioners
were proud of their shepherds and prayed for all the priests whom they knew and
have made difference in their lives. After the Eucharist all joined in agape
together prepared by the priest himself. (15th August 2013)
