Women’s Day celebration
in Siddhpur parish
Siddhpur Parish
celebrated Woman’s Day on 9th March 2014 with the Holy Eucharist.
Special prayers were offered for all women and specifically for the women of Siddhpur
Parish. After the Eucharistic celebration, five women shared their views
as to how they, as women, could make a difference in different situations.
The first woman shared how she had to take up even the role of being the
head of the family in a given situation. When she was in the situation she
became more powerful in handling different situations. The second woman shared
how she was influential in defending pro-life in a hospital situation and also
being successful in bringing back a person who went astray. The third woman
shared how she played a significant role in the male dominated societal
structure by bringing about changes. The fourth woman shared how woman plays an
important role in the life of every human person. The fifth shared how amidst
her hardship and sufferings she became triumphant in making a home. After the
sharing, we felicitated each woman with a memento. This was followed by the
birthday celebration of Ivan Rego and prayers for Grace & Philip who were
appearing for the board examinations. They were blessed by all who were
present. It was a genuine surprise for all of us to see that three women
prepared some snacks and payasam (kier) and shared with all who were present
which added more aroma to the joy we were exchanging through the celebrations.
As we all know, during the lent we have more participants for the Eucharist and
Siddhpur was no exception to this. This too doubled our joy to have more
faithful participating in the Eucharist. (9th March 2014)
