Mission work in Siddhpur parish

Mission work in Siddhpur

The Holy week and the Sacred Triduum were celebrated with full participation in Siddhpur Mission Parish. Thereafter the homes and the work places of our parishioners were blessed. Soon after Easter, the construction works at Umru for St. Xavier’s school began in full swing. A bore-well of depth 530 feet was dug and power supply was connected to the electric motor. Mr. John Mathews and Chandersingh along with Fr. Xavier James ran from pillar to post to get all permissions and necessary connections. Many priests, parishioners visit the site and witness the progress of the building construction works. While building the physical structure one should not forget to build the spiritual structure of the Church community. It was a joyous event to conclude the month of Rosary with the recitation of Holy Rosary, celebration of the Holy Eucharist and welcoming the newly wedded couple Ivan Rego & Jacintha. Both felt that they were received and welcomed with much warmth although the outer temperature was 45. They were glad to receive such reception into the parish community of Siddhpur.

Our beloved Archbishop’s dream for Siddhpur mission was well supported by Mr. John Mathews.  Due to ill health, he passed away and the community in Siddhpur was very much saddened as he was so generous and helpful to us. May his soul rest in peace.
