Solemn feast of St. John the Baptist parish, Poothurai. It is an unique event: On the 9th day of the Novena the procession of the images of Our Lady and St. John the Baptist is taken around the village which lasts for 2 hours and then Vespers in conducted and this year I was given the responsibility of breaking the word of God to my own people. On the feast day I celebrated the feast mass and after the festive mass the Eucharistic procession is taken around the Church which is very touching and inspiring and it increases my faith. It is a day of gathering and so many family members come for this occasion. Our family was fortunate to have Fr. Arul Arasu from Thanjavoor with us this year.
