Siddhpur Updates…
It
was a joy to have our dearly loved Archbishop visiting the construction site at
Umru for St. Xavier’s school in Siddhpur Mission Parish. It was so kind of him
to come over to celebrate the feast of St. James in the Parish on 25th July
2014. Although it was a working day, all the male members of the Parish
together with the sisters were present for the Episcopal Eucharistic
Celebration followed by a light breakfast at the priest’s residence.
On
27th July 2014, the Parish celebrated Parents’ Day. After the
celebration of the Eucharist, four children expressed their sentiments towards
their parents by reading out their feelings of love and gratitude and also
presenting them a small gift. One child sang a beautiful song and everyone
appreciated her.
On
10th August 2014, our Parish celebrated Vianney Sunday and the liturgy was well prepared by the
people. The beauty was when people joined in the prayer of the faithful in
different languages with spontaneity. The people remembered the priests who
came into their lives, those who baptized them, celebrated Eucharist for them,
heard their confessions, anointed their sick parents and also conducted the
funeral services of their parents and their loved ones. With gratitude in their
hearts, they recalled all the priests who were there with them from their birth
till date. Special prayers were offered for the Archdiocesan priests,
Archbishop and their Parish Priest. After the Eucharistic celebration, an agape
was arranged by the people themselves. Each family brought some dish and shared
with all, which added more colour to the celebration.
