Feast of the Nativity of Our Lady in Siddhpur Mission Parish.

Nativity of Our Lady in Siddhpur Mission

Preparation for the feast of Nativity of Our Lady is a unique occasion when all the parishioners make adjustment to participate in the recitation of the Holy Rosary, Novena, Holy Eucharist followed by the benediction since it is the year of the Eucharist. This year themes of the Novena were focused on the Eucharistic attitudes and it brought about deeper understanding of the Eucharist. On 8th September, we were fortunate to have His Grace Archbishop to celebrate the feast with us in Siddhpur and to visit the construction site for St. Xavier’s School, Umru-Siddhpur.

In the evening, the solemn Holy Eucharist was celebrated with full participation of the faithful after which surprise edible items that were brought by five families was shared with all which added colour to the celebration. We also wished and celebrated Teacher's Day in our parish. Two girl children cut the cake and shared and Monti fest was also celebrated for the three Manglorian families of our parish. Giving importance to each one in the parish makes the Church vibrant and participative.

On the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, Fr. Francis Xavier, who is pursuing his doctoral studies in Rome, visited Siddhpur and celebrated the Holy Eucharist for the parish community. Fr. Francis Xavier was also felicitated. He was glad to witness to a lively Eucharistic community. It was a special occasion yet to honour our new priests of the Archdiocese Frs. Arul Britto and Shankar Dodiar. Thank God for the vocations we receive. (16th Sep 2014)
