Parish update

Missio progressio at Siddhpur parish

On the World Mission Sunday 22nd October 2017, Siddhpur mission really progressed with another member of the Catholic Church. James Fernandes son of Philip & Krupa Fernandes was baptized on the Mission Sunday to make our Lord’s mission mandate meaningful. Fr. Dominic Savio baptized the first child in his life. It was a joyful day for the whole gathering. Faithful from Siddhpur, Palanpur and Bombay together with seminarians who were making retreat participated in the Holy Eucharist and thereafter for the fellowship meal which was from the generosity of Philip & Krupa Fernandes. May the Lord increase more people for Himself so that mission progresses. (22/10/2017)

School updates

Archbishop Stany’s visit

His Grace Archbishop Stanislaus Fernandes, Archbishop Emeritus of Gandhinagar, who initiated Siddhpur parish, presently Apostolic Administrator of Baroda diocese visited St. Xavier’s School, Umru-Siddhpur on 27th September 2017. He was welcomed by kids and he interacted with children. He advised them to be good and do good. It was a joyful return for the Archbishop to Siddhpur. (28/09/2017, Xavier James)

Xavierites shine at Little Star Inter School Competitions

K G kids of St. Xavier’s, Umru came to the school on 12th October 2017 with added joy and enthusiasm. They were eager to participate in the Little Star inter school competitions at Aga Khan School, Siddhpur. The kids participated in action song, fancy dress and storytelling competitions. St. Xavier’s school secured first place in the storytelling competition and third place in fancy dress competition among 9 other schools. The theme was nature and ecology. The kids performed so well with the help of their teacher Ms. Priya and parents. They themselves prepared the elements of nature. Kudos to kids and Priya teacher. We are proud of you children. Deepawali celebration at St. Xavier’s

On 14th October 2017, before the school would close for its Diwali vacation, kids came with new clothes to celebrate Deepawali with their friends. As soon as their parents arrived they invited everyone to join in prayer and put up cultural programme with singing and dancing. Fr. Xavier James appreciated the kids for their progress in their studies as well as extracurricular activities. Each child was given a gift as a token of appreciation. He also thanked the teachers and the parents for their hard work towards the progress of the kids. Fr. Dominic Savio thanked everyone. Then all shared in the refreshments. Thereafter Parent-Teacher-Student interaction took place and the parents were glad to see the progress and performance of their beloved children. (15/10/2017)
