Ecology & climate change seminar by Bishop Allwyn D'silva

Ecology Seminar for Gujarat

His Grace Archbishop Thomas Macwan of the Archdiocese of Gandhinagar took initiative to organize a seminar on Ecology and climate change for the whole metropolitan see of Gandhinagar which includes Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot, Shamshabad and Gandhinagar. His Lordship Bishop Allwyn D’silva was the resource person. He is the chairperson of ecology commission at FABC, CBCI, CCBI level. The event took place on 28^th September 2023 at Pastoral Centre, Nadiad. 150 priests and sisters participated in it. Bishop Alwyn dealt with Laudato Si Goals, Climate Crisis, 7 Cs and some tips for the way forward. His talk was very insightful and provoked the audience for immediate action so that we can have our planet ‘common home’ safe and secure. The participants were very serious about concrete steps for the present and future. His Grace Archbishop Thomas Macwan is grateful Bishop Allwyn, Bishop Retnaswamy, Fr. Charles, the Director of Pastoral centre, Fr. Jerald Ramesh Stalin for the arrangements and SSSS staff for their support and help.

SSSS training & meeting

Training programme for Community Educators

On 25^th & 26^th September 2023, SSSS organized a training programme for Community Educators on Participation in Gram Sabha. 18 Community Educators participated in it. As the next Gram Sabha is approaching on 2^nd October, this training has boosted the community educators to participate and encourage other women to participate actively and to make their point. Thanks to the SSSS team for facilitating the training.

Meeting with Media personnel

On 25^th September 2023, SSSS had organized a meeting with print and visual Media personnel. From 7 various newspapers and news channels the reporters came together and learnt about SSSS and its work in the Archdiocese of Gandhinagar. They congratulated SSSS and the staff for effective work they render to the society.
