Corona Virus preventive relief service by SSSS
After meeting and obtaining permission from the
district collector of Gandhinagar, Fr. Xavier James, SSSS staff Nitin & Mehul
set out on 27th March 2020 to distribute relief preventive materials
for COVID-19 such as face masks, hand sanitizer, liquid hand wash, hand gloves.
They went to Mehsana, Radhanpur, Patan, Siddhpur, Palanpur, Deesa, Vadgam and
Kheralu. The police were cooperative and people were glad to receive them, the
timely aid. We are grateful to our Archbishop Thomas Macwan and others who
support and encourage this initiative of SSSS during this pandemic crisis.
On 29th March 2020, SSSS staff Nitin, Mehul, Gaurang and Fr. Xavier left for
Aravali and Sabarkantha districts to distribute preventive materials for Corona
Virus. They reached out to Himmatnagar, Vijayanagar, Bhiloda, Khiloda, Pahadia,
Kadwat, Nanakantharia, Meghraj and Modasa. This gesture was a timely one from
SSSS to our beloved fathers, sisters and our people.
On 30th March 2020, SSSS staff Nitin,
Mehul, Gaurang and Fr. Xavier reached out to Gandhinagar, Mandali, Unteshwari,
Kalol parishes with Corona virus preventive materials. On the whole it was a
joy to serve the human family. Once again I thank our Archbishop Thomas Macwan,
Fathers and Sisters for placing such trust in us and encouraging us to reach
out to every person.

COVID - 19
COVID -19 Relief service by SSSS
As
Corona Virus spread Gujarat and India, SSSS took a quick step to buy preventive
materials to be distributed to the needy people of the Archdiocese of
Gandhinagar. After buying Fr. Xavier James along with few staff members Nitin,
Mehul and Gaurang went to the neighbourhood of Jeevan Vikas Kendra on 24th
March 2020 and distributed masks, hand gloves, liquid soap, hand sanitizer to
the poor and needy people. They were made aware of the seriousness of this
pandemic and asked to wear masks. Some demo was shown as to wash hands
properly. As we had fixed dates to go to our mission stations on the following
days, strict lock down was implemented. However, as the situation eases we
shall go ahead with our plans. We are grateful to Ana Carcamo of Manos Unidas
for her generosity to reach out to the needy of the Archdiocese. We pray that
God will heal the world.

SSSS Staff Exposure to Rajkot
SSSS Staff exposure programme at Navjeevan, Rajkot
SSSS staff of Gandhinagar Social Service Centre went
to Najeevan of Rajkot Diocesan Social Service centre for an exposure programme
on 11th 12th of March 2020. Staff had a firsthand
experience of another organization and its works across Saurashtra & Kutch.
They also visited skill training centres to have an idea to work on to
replicate in Gandhinagar. His Lordship Rt. Rev. Jose, Bishop of Rajkot, Fr.
Thomas, Director of Navjeevan Trust welcomed SSSS staff and imparted so much of best
practices of Rajkot to SSSS staff. SSSS staff returned to normal work with
added gusto.
