Archdiocesan Women's day celebration in Gandhinagar


                                     Archdiocesan Women’s day celebration

International women’s day was celebrated in the Archdiocese of Gandhinagar on 8th March 2020 at Jeevan Vikas Kendra, Pethapur. 230 women participated in the event. All carried the lighted candle which they placed before the altar as they entered the premises. His Grace Archbishop Thomas Macwan presided over the Holy Eucharist, concelebrated by 5 priests. Archbishop in his homily gave examples of the role of women in the Holy Bible. Then colourful event began of the women with skits, dances, songs, games and garba. Archbishop awarded 9 women from different parishes for their role in socio-pastroal activities of the parish. The guest of honour and resource person was Ms. Anjanaben Robinbhai Patel who gave the women clear idea about CAA, NRC, NPR and present scenario of the nation and asked the women to be vigilant. She shared about her own challenges in government profession and how she faces them with gusto and faith in God. Thus she encouraged the women to stand up for their own rights having gusto and faith in their hearts. All enjoyed the event and went home with greater joy. Sr. Nila Bhatia, Sisters, Animators, SSSS staff along with Fr. Xavier James did a marvelous work in making the day so memorable one for the women.
