Visit of ANA & CHIQUI from MANOS UNIDAS to SSSS and Archdiocese of Gandhinagar
SSSS visits
On 23rd March 2022, SSSS director and staff
visited Siddhpur Parish. Along with Fr. Sibi, they met the women Shital Chhaya
Cooperative and interacted with them on loan and returning of loan. They
encouraged them to increase the number in order to grow.
On 24th March 2022, SSSS reached out to the
migrant families at Vavol and helped them with needed materials for special
learning programme for migrant children and skill training in tailoring for
migrant women. The staff identified and reached out to the needy in
Gandhinagar.
Visit of Ana & Chiqui, Manos Unidas officials to
Archdiocese
It was a great joy to have Ana & Chiqui, Manos
Unidas officials to our Archdiocese of Gandhinagar. On 29th March
2022, they along with director and SSSS staff reached Nanadodisara village
interacted with women of NICE 2 programme also participated in traditional
seeds exhibition. Then they went to Bhavanpur where the women gave a
traditional welcome and after asking clarifications of the programme they saw
the organic manure and pesticide which are used for traditional farming.
Thereafter, they left for Pahadiya, where the women were glad to welcome them
with songs, dance and music. Ana & Chiqui were glad to see that many women
had kitchen gardens and had benefited from various government schemes. After
that, a meeting of partner sisters and
Community Educators was organized at Nanakantharia and the officials checked
the documents of Community Educators and sought clarifications. They were proud
of the grass root work done by SSSS.

SSSS Training & SSSS field visit to Deesa with Archbishop
Community Educators’ training programme
From 14th to 15th March 2022,
Community Educators of CHANGE & NICE programme of Manos Unidas had gathered
together at Jeevan Vikas Kendra, Pethapur, Gandhinagar. They were given input
on various diseases of children and Sharmilaben & Anilbhai checked their
records for better performance. Fr. Xavier James encouraged them to work
ardently as they work for the advancement of their own society.
Archbishop visits Deesa, Manos Unidas CHANGE project
area
His Grace Archbishop Thomas Macwan of Gandhinagar
visited Kamodi village in Deesa parish on 16th March 2022. SSSS
director and staff accompanied him together with Fr. Almeida. Archbishop
interacted with the people of the village and encouraged them to work for the
progress of their village and assured of his continued support through Fr.
Almeida and Deesa Mission. He also participated in traditional nutritious food competition,
kitchen garden and planting of various fruit trees.

Beautician course at Mehsana Parish & Inauguration of Women's cooperative at Pahadiya Parish.
Beautician course at Mehsana & Mandali parishes
On 8th March 2022, SSSS Director and staff
visited Mehsana, Mandali parishes as life skill trainings are in progress in
these parishes. Sr. Nirmala from Mehsana and Fr.Velankanni from Mandali were
eager to help out the women of the parishes and thus beautician course was
begun. SSSS through the generosity of Missio, Austria provided materials and
other assistance.
Inauguration of Women’s cooperative at Pahadiya Parish
On 10th March 2022, 45 women had gathered
at Pahadiya in order to understand and begin women’s cooperative in the
vicinity. SSSS Director and staff together with Srs. Celin and Alosiya
encouraged the women for their enthusiasm.

Women's day 2022
Archdiocesan Women’s day celebration
On 6th March 2022, Archdiocesan women’s day
was celebrated at Jeevan Vikas Kendra, Pethapur, Gandhinagar. Preparatory
meeting was held with Sr. Nila Bhatia and her core group of Women’s desk with
SSSS staff and director. 190 women from across the Archdiocese had participated
in this event. Fr. Xavier James presided over the Holy Eucharist and various
responsibilities were shared by different parish women. Vanitaben from Nanakantharia
was the president of the gathering and she encouraged the women to lead a
decent life style. Fr. Siby Mathew gave the glimpses of Synod followed by group
discussion on Synodality. 19 active Women were awarded and honoured from
different parishes. The women enjoyed being together for a day and it is
noticed that there were smiles which led them to miles to reach their homes
after agape provided by His Grace Archbishop Thomas Macwan.
