Archdiocesan English Course 2022
Inauguration of Archdiocesan Spoken English Course
Long awaited Archdiocesan Spoken English Course began
on Easter Sunday 17th April 2022 at Jeevan Vikas Kendra,
Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre at Pethapur in Gandhinagar. The students appeared
for the Entrance Test at the very outset. Then different groups were formed to
ease the learning according to their abilities. On 18th April 2022,
His Grace Archbishop Thomas Macwan, Metropolitan Archbishop of Gandhinagar
presided over the inaugural Eucharist by lighting the Easter Candle and
encouraged the students to learn English and our Faith. 78 students who have
completed 10th and 12th standard began to speak in
English. Archdiocese is grateful to Frs. Deepak Toppo, Royden Patil, Arul
Britto, Xavier James, Brs. Donald Remi, Ankur Patel, Rakesh and SSSS staff for
making the students comfortable in learning English. All Glory to God!

SSSS visits
SSSS monitoring visits
SSSS Director and the staff on 6th April
2022, went to Mandali and Mehsana on monitoring visit. They were very glad to
meet the women who were busy with learning tailoring and beautician skills at
Mandali. Archdiocese of Gandhinagar is grateful to Frs. Vela & Cosmos for
their whole hearted support in reaching out to the women of Mandali. Thereafter,
the team visited Mehsana and met the women who were so involved in learning
beautician skill to stand on their own feet. We are grateful to Sr. Nirmala. SSSS,
Archdiocese of Gandhinagar is grateful to Missio, Austria for helping with
finance.

SSSS Community Educators
Community Educators’ training programme
SSSS Community Educators from various parishes
gathered together for a health training at Jeevan Vikas Kendra, Pethapur,
Gandhinagar from 4th to 5th April 2022. Sharmila and Anil
enlightened them with various health topics and hand books were given to each
Community Educator, which were prepared by SSSS staff. These will be very helpful to the women when
they are in the fileld. Nitin and Hemangini briefed the Community Educators
with various government schemes and how to obtain those schemes from respective
block and district. On the last day, each one had prepared a health topic and
presented to the gathering which made a great difference in their self-confidence.
