Blessing & Laying of
foundation stone at Umru, Siddhpur.
On the 28th of
March 2014 in the presence of 50 well wishers the Metropolitan Catholic
Archbishop of Gandhinagar His Grace Stanislaus Fernandes blessed and laid the
foundation stone at Umru site for St. Xavier’s School building. It was a joyous
event for the people of Siddhpur parish and it was witnessed by the Vicar
General Fr. Jebamalai, Fathers from Palanpur, Vadgam and Patan. The whole
community of Jesus and Mary from Palanpur and Siddhpur sisters were present.
The presence of many families from Siddhpur and Palanpur and well-wishers added
greater joy to the occasion. Everyone prayerfully participated in the prayer
service and then the Archbishop laid the foundation stone and beautifully performed
his work as the first builder. A well wisher named Thangaraj prepared tea and
served all with sweets. Thereafter Fr. Jebamalai placing a coconut on his palm
went around the ground to locate the water source and when it was found, the
Archbishop said a prayer and broke a coconut there. It was a day of
thanksgiving for all the efforts and running about done for over two years.
