SSSS staff visits Bayad

SSSS Bayad visit

Fr. Xavier James along with the staff of Sabarmati Samruddhi Seva Sangh visited Bayad for understanding the situation and the work of Don Bosco society in and around Bayad. Initial meeting was held with Fr. Mayank Parmar, Saileshbhai and Vijay Parmar to acquaint the staff with the work and situation at Bayad so far. Mr. Vijay Parmar has been working since 3 years with the guidance of Fr. Mayank in 15 villages. The villages are around 15 Kms from the centre. He has been engaging himself in rapport building and helping people to obtain government schemes. The villages have people from all commuinities but Thakor community is more numerically. Many benefits are obtained such as widow pensions, Disability pensions, aids and appliances for disabled persons etc. Besides this, Adult Literacy was conducted by Don Bosco society with the help of some volunteers. The staff met some volunteers who work closely with Vijaybhai in Bayad who were very positive about the work that has been done so far. There are 40 volunteers who help Don Bosco society.

SSSS staff visited Chabo & Dehgamda villages and met the beneficiaries who obtained government schemes through the intervention of Vijaybhai. They interacted with the local people who were very positive about the work done so far. It was a good learning for SSSS staff as the work has been done for individual benefits and without any incentives. (Xavier James)
