 SSSS reaches to rural areas of the Archdiocese

On 25^th February 2022, SSSS staff with its director reached Meghraj parish to visit and meet women of health project. Sr. Sangita and Sheelaben accompanied them to Navagam and Mandada villages. Arunaben and Jyotsanaben, our Community Educators gathered the women who had prepared traditional food and brought to the gathering. After talking to women on health and nutrition, all tasted the food and the winners were given prizes to boost them.

On 22^nd February 2022, SSSS staff with its Director visited Bhiloda parish villages for the nutrition programme which is funded by Manos Unidas, Spain. They visited Jaswantpura where Manjulaben gathered the women and conducted hand wash day which brought about much awareness on cleanliness. Thereafter, they visited Motadodisara where Najuben and her women prepared and brought different kinds of traditional food dishes and shared with one another. They were all given prizes to boost them. Then, they visited Nanadodisara where Jashodaben gathered the women who brought traditional seeds from their homes which was a marvelous sight to see and everyone wondered at so many seeds which are available with our tribal society.  

SSSS reaches out to persons with disabilities

On 24^th February 2022, SSSS reached out to Poshina parish with food grains and provisions for 90 families of persons with disabilities. Frs. Kolady, Yowan and Mukeshbhai surveyed the most needy families and approached SSSS to help out the families of persons with disabilities. It was a joy to have Fr. Victor Pais, former SSSS director during the distribution.

On 15^th February 2022, SSSS staff and Director visited Rudhradi village in Khiloda parish and participated in hand wash day programme and encouraged women to keep themselves and surrounding clean and tidy so that virus does not attack anyone. The community Educators along with Sr. Jakline Fernandes did a good job. At Pahadiya SSSS met the Community Educators and Sr. Celin and trained the women to keep the records so that these would help them in effective reporting. At Lusadiya SSSS met the women along with Sr. Asuntha to get the follow up of the progress of the project regarding kitchen garden and seed bank. The Community Educators conducted hand washday for the village women.

Community Educators’ training programme on counselling took place at Jeevan Vikas Kendra from 11^th to 12^th February 2022. CHANGE project community educators from Deesa, Palanpur, Vadgam and Kheralu parishes participated and found the programme useful while they deal with people.

Community Educators of Mission Nutrition participated in record keeping training from Pahadiya parish from 11^th to 12^th February 2022 at Jeevan Vikas Kendra, Pethapur. They were enthusiastic in doing this good work for their own women.

 SSSS reaches out to the needy

On 2^nd February 2022, SSSS reached out to 30 families of widows in Kalol Panchvati area. SSSS staff identified the needy families and surveyed them then reached out to 30 poor families of widows with food grains which would help them for a month.

Sangath Vidhya

On 3^rd February 2022, a new programme in the name of ‘Sangath Vidhya’ was inaugurated for women empowerment and skill training for the cooperative members of Mehsana and Mandali Parishes. It is supported by Missio, Austria. Sr. Nirmala, Frs. Mathew Parapuram, Xavier James and SSSS staff together with women of Mandali and Mehsana launched the progamme for the welfare of women in the district.
