Blessing of Church, Grotto at CRPF, Gandhinagar
CRPF, BSF and Indian Army personnel contributed
generously towards the painting and renovation of the Church and grotto. On 10th
December 2022 the Church and Grotto were blessed by His Grace Archbishop Thomas
Macwan in the presence of Frs. Francis Xavier, Sushil Toppo and the Officers. Defense
personnel were glad to receive the Archbishop amidst them. His Grace Archbishop
celebrated the Holy Eucharist and participated in the fellowship meal. The men
and women were fully involved in the work of the Church. The women got together
and cooked food for 50 persons and brought and shared with all.
Sharing Seeds with neighbours
On 12th December 2022, more than 30 women
had gathered from Nava Bhetali, Meru and Jaswantpura. 15 women who had received
corn seeds from SSSS in the month of June had brought 1kg of corn from their
harvest and shared with other 15 women in order to bring about the value of
sharing and nutrition. Fr. Xavier James and SSSS staff visited the Kitchen
garden prepared at Nava Bhetali, Mota Dodisara, Nana Dodisara and Pahadiya.
Orientation programme for CHANGE PHASE 2
On 13th December 2022, Fathers and
Community Educators of Palanpur, Danta and Deesa joined at Pethapur for
orientation programme on Child and Mother’s Health is to be
improved And promoted through Nutrition Programme in north Gujarat
Environment (CHANGE) Phase 2. Manos Unidas had helped in the first phase
in 45 villages of Banaskantha district and now they have shown their
willingness to continue to help them in this phase. A lot of good has been done
through the activities in the interior parts of our Archdiocese of Gandhinagar.

SSSS Visit to Danta
On 15th December 2022, SSSS Director and
Staff visited the Kitchen gardens at Chorivav, Rapat, Piplavalivav, Dabavalivav
in Danta block of Banaskantha District. At Rapat some former beneficiaries of
SSSS shared their corn, millet and vegetable seeds with others so that gradual
change could be brought in the village the value of sharing be brought back in
their lives.
SSSS World Migrant Day celebration
18th December 2022 was the World Migrant
Day. As the part of Migrant day celebration SSSS staff had registered the daily
wagers at sector 6 for National Health Card, e shram card. Fr. Xavier James
distributed the cards to the migrants in the morning. In the afternoon a public
function was organized by SSSS staff at Chatral for the migrants and they were also
registered under National Health card, e shram card. The Director distributed
the cards to the migrant brothers and sisters and offered SSSS’ continued help
and cooperation for the benefits of the vulnerable. In the evening beautician
training was inaugurated by SSSS at Chatral, thus making the migrant women self
reliant. Kudos to SSSS staff for their untiring work towards the downtrodden.
