SSSS visit to various parishes

 SSSS visit to Mandali, Mehsana, Siddhpur

On 4th July 2023, SSSS staff and internship students from Pandit Dindayal Energy University and Central University of Gujarat in Gandhinagar visited Mandali, Siddhpur and Mehsana. SSSS Director, staff & students interacted with trainers and trainees of skill trainings of beautician, tailoring and embroidery. It was a joy to learn that 402 women have successfully completed the above trainings. We are grateful to Fathers and Sisters who with the help of trainers teach and make the women self-reliant. We are grateful to Archdiocese of Toronto for their assistance.

SSSS visit to various departments in Gandhinagar

On 5th July 2023, SSSS Director together with Staff and students of internship from Africa and India visited various departments of Gandhinagar General hospital and different homes. They met the doctors at TB, HIV, Disability departments. SSSS is grateful to Dr. Jennifer Christian and Nurses Nynaben and Jyotsnaben for their support. SSSS also visited Sakhi 1 stop centre, Children’s homes, Lady’s home and interacted with many persons. Prior to that, they visited Sector 6 where migrant workers gather for daily wages, interacted with the daily wagers, and gave them awareness on various government schemes for their welfare.   

 SSSS visit to Khiloda, Pahadiya, Nanakantharia

On 6th July 2023, SSSS Director, Staff and internship students visited Khiloda, Pahadiya, Nanakantharia in Aravalli district. At Khiloda they saw the trainings on tailoring and embroidery and was glad to see different items prepared by the trainees. There was a healthy diet competition, 16 women participated in it, and winners and participants were awarded with prizes. At Pahadiya they saw the skill training and also participated in an awareness programme on healthy diet. At Lusadiya village the women had organized an awareness programme on traditional seeds. It was a joy to have our beloved Archbishop Thomas Macwan. His presence encouraged the women and he encouraged them in turn to keep up the traditional way of farming and preserving traditional seeds and remain healthy. SSSS distributed various seeds to Catholic families at Khiloda, Pahadiya, Nana Kanthariya and Meghraj parishes. We are grateful to Italian Bishops conference and Manos Unidas.
