Inauguration of Academic year at St. Xavier’s School, Umru-Siddhpur

On the feast of St. Anthony of Padua on 13th June 2016, the scholastic year at St. Xavier’s school Umru-Siddhpur was inaugurated with august presence of five children and their parents. Ms. Jameela welcomed everyone and the presence of God was invoked by a hymn and a prayer. After which, lighting of the lamp was done by all the parents and children as well as by Ms. Jameela, Ms. Priya and Fr. Xavier James. Thereafter, the customary ‘lectio brevis’ inaugural address was delivered by Fr. Xavier James and then few instructions were given to the parents regarding the school, conveyance etc. After having snacks all left for their home with happy mood. (Xavier James 13/06/2016)

Parent-Teacher-Student Interaction

On 1st July 2016, Ms. Jameela called for a Parent-Teacher-Student Interaction at the School, all the parents of the students participated in it with joy. First of all God’s presence was invoked with hymns and prayers after which Fr. Xavier James, welcomed the parents and read out the letter which was given to each parent. It consisted of the report of the inauguration and appreciation children and parent; it was about identity card, books, uniform, calendar, holidays. Then Ms. Jameela explained to the parents of the Syllabus till Diwali break, Both Ms. Jameela and Priya prepared the snacks for the month which the children are to bring to the School. Thereafter each parent was called and shown the class work of the children by Ms. Priya and Jameela showed them the progress of the children. With joy and good wish the meeting ended and the class continued as usual. (01/07/2016)

Eid celebration in the School

On 6th July 2016, Eid celebration was held in the School. Ms. Jameela gave a good treat for the children and staff in the school. It was an enjoyable moment to be together. It was a celebration of brotherhood not looking into castes, religion both students and staff sat together to participate in the fellowship meal which strengthened the bond and gave others a message that this School is for all and respects every one’s sentiments. Care for creation

As the regular and creative classes go on in the class room setting, children of St. Xavier’s School went out to the ground to plant new trees in the campus on 18th July 2016. The plants were watered by the kids. Then the teachers instructed about caring for creation and how environment has to be taken care of. (19/07/2016)

Visit of Archbishop Thomas to St. Xavier’s School, Umru-Siddhpur

On 21st July 2016, Archbishop Thomas was welcomed by the students of St. Xavier’s School in their midst with umbrella and chandan tilak and a hand shake from each student. After entering the class room, he was welcomed by the teachers with a bouquet and shawl as it is his first visit to the School in this new academic year. Ms. Jameela read out the activity report of the past one month and then His grace Archbishop interacted with children and appreciated and encouraged the teachers and staff for their service to this new educational institution. The School was glad to welcome Frs. Prabu and Joseph along with our beloved Archbishop Thomas. It was an occasion of great joy. (23/07/2016)

School Picnic to Mount Abu

On 22nd of July 2016, the Staff and students of St. Xavier’s School went on an educational tour to mount Abu. It was a great occasion to be together and also to create an atmosphere of speaking in English. All enjoyed visiting several places at mount Abu. The kids were overjoyed to be in a different a place. Parent-Teacher-Student Interaction


On 29th July 2016, Ms. Jameela called for Parent-Teacher-Student Interaction at St. Xavier’s School, Umru-Siddhpur. After the regular prayer and hymns which the kids do it with much enthusiasm, Fr. Xavier James welcomed the parents and gave them a letter which contained the activity report and few instructions to the parents, father explained them to the parents. Thereafter each parent was called to see the progress of their kid and examine the work books. They were asked to express the concerns and one suggestion which came vehemently from two parents that to have the name of the School written on the school van so that people know that St. Xavier’s School is already open. Father has taken note of it to be executed in the near future. The teachers gave instructions to the parents about the kids’ fancy dress on the Independence Day. Father invited all the parents with family to come for the National Festival. The parents were glad to be together with their children and witness the progress of their kids. (29/07/2016)
