SSSS Staff Exposure Programme to Goa Caritas
SSSS staff amidst their dedicated service in the
Archdiocese of Gandhinagar wanted to learn more from other Diocesan Social
Service Centers. In the past there were exposure visit to Ahmedabad and Rajkot
dioceses. This year in September 2022, the staff went to Caritas Goa for their exposure
programme. Frs. Maverick Fernandes, Savio Fernandes, Walter D’souza from the
Archdiocese of Goa planned the visit. Fr. Maverick and his staff gave an
orientation to SSSS staff and Director. Then visited different project sites with
Fr. Walter such as Community home for adult disabled, Home for women in
distress, Institute of Home Nursing, Community home for HIV children, school
for deafblind, school and home for children with disabilities. SSSS staff
interacted with the Goa Caritas staff and children in all these homes. Fr.
Savio was a guide for the tour to Historical Churches in Old Goa. SSSS staff
had opportunities to celebrate Holy Eucharist in Old Goa Church and Panjim
Church in Gujarati. It was a truly learning experience for SSSS staff and
Director.
