When I was a stranger you welcomed me (Mat.25:35)
As SSSS staff proceeds for COVID 19 relief work, on
the way we see many migrant workers who go to their native on foot. On 5th
May we saw the same situation and again on 12th May 2020. We bought
some biscuits on our second journey and as we found any group of migrants we
stopped our vehicle and gave them biscuits and inquired about where they were
coming and where they were heading. It was a sorry state to see of our own
human brother and sister are ill treated in such an inhuman way. One may be qualified
administrator or having very honourable position in the society, but one should
never forget he/she is a human being first. If we do not care for these
vulnerable how can we expect any good to happen to us when we are in such
situation? Let Jesus tell us ‘When I was a stranger you welcomed me’. We are
planning in the third phase to obtain permission from the government to reach
such people to border of the state, at least a drop in the ocean.
